Bromley Network Childminders Celebrate Approval of Networks
On Saturday 17th February Bromley Early Years and Bromley Mencap held a joint event to celebrate the recent NCMA approval of the four Bromley Childminding Networks. The Networks were assessed in August by the National Childminding Association to ensure the childminders were providing a quality service to children and families in need or with additional needs, accross the Borough. The Co-ordinators were also interviewed and had to provide a portfolio of evidence to support the approval.

A Barn Dance was held for the Network Childminders and their families in central Bromley. Mayor Councillor Charles Joel and his wife Margaret attended , presented Certificates to the Network Childminders and cut the specially made cake. Cllr Joel talked knowledgeably of the role of a childminder, as his own daughter had been a Mencap Network Childminder many years ago. A certificate was also presented to Liz Hodgman, BCMA's web writer, for her 'efforts and enthusiasm in co-ordinating the approval application' before she left Bromley Early Years.

The Childminders, their partners and children enjoyed an afternoon of dancing and a buffet lunch. The local press attended and took photographs.
