Early Years Foundation Stage

DfES have produced a revised framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and it is available to download from their website.

Responses to this consultation are required by 2nd February 2007. The Full package will be available in the spring and will include Practice Guidance with Learning and Development Grids, non-statutory guidance, additional advice and information, additional resources including a CD-Rom, poster and Principles into Practice Cards.

 

The revised framework has now amended the ratios for childminders so they are the same as the National Standards. New Childminders no longer have six months following registration to complete their first aid course. From September 2008 all new childminders must have completed the appropriate course at the point of registration.
