The environment supports every child’s learning
through planned experiences and activities
that are challenging but achievable.

Supporting Every Child is split into three topics:

Children’s Needs

The learning journey

Working together

In the following web pages we will look at what this actually means for a Childminder and provide ideas on how you can develop your own practice  to support and meet the needs of all your minded children.

Children’s Needs

Childminders need to meet the individual physical and emotional needs of the children that they care for so that they are then ready to learn through play. Childminders need to provide a wide range of activities and experiences, sometimes offering support and sometimes allowing the children to explore for themselves.

The learning journey

Childminders need to consider each child’s interests and their previous experiences. They need to support the children to learn and develop across all six areas and to extend their individual talents.

Working together

Childminders need to work with other settings to support the children to have continuity in their learning. They also need to listen to the children and provide activities that interest them.
